Eligibility for Admission for BDS Cource

No candidate will be admitted unless he/she has completed 17 years of age at the time of admission or will complete 17 years of age on 31st December of the year of his/her admission to first B.D.S

Candidates who have passed the two years Pre - University Examination of Pre - University Board of Karnataka with English and Physics Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects are eligible for admission to the fist year and

The candidate shall have obtained 50% marks in English & 50% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry , and Biology

Eligibility for Admission for MDS Cource

A candidate for admission to the MDS course ( Master of Dental Surgery ) must have a degree of BDS     ( Bachelor of Dental Surgery ) from a college and University recognized by Dental Council of India or an qualification recognized by Rajiv Gandhi  University of Health Sciences, Karnataka, ( RGUHS ) and the Dental Council of India. Candidates not possessing a recognized Dental qualification for the above purpose should secure the prior approval  of his/ her qualifications by the Dental Council of India before admission to the MDS Course.

I BDS Examination

1.General Human Anatomy including Embryology & Histology
2.General Human Physiology & Biochemistry Nutrition & Deities.
3.Dental Materials

II BDS Examination

1.General Pathology & Microbiology
2.General & Dental Pharmacology & Therapeutics
3.Human Oral Anatomy including  Embryology and Histology & Oral Physiology
4.Pre – Clinical Prosthodontics
5.Pre – Clinical Conservative Dentistry

III BDS Examination

1.General Medicine
2.General Surgery
3.Oral Pathology & Microbiology
4.Preventive & Community Dentistry
Note : Subject[4]above Preventive & Community Dentistry shifted to III BDS

IV BDS Examination – Subjects at the end of IV Year

1.Oral Medicine & Radiology
2.Orthodontics
3.Pedodontics
4.Prosthodontics & Crown & Bridge
5.Conservative Dentistry including Endodontics
6.Oral Surgery
7.Periodontics

The students will appear for examination for seven subjects at the end of the year.

Paper I   :    Applied Basic sciences: Applied Anatomy , Physiology, Dental Materials , Genetics, Pathology, Physical Anthropology, Research Methodology, Bio- Statistics and Applied Pharmacology.

Paper II :    Orthodontics history, Concepts of occlusion and esthetics, child and Adult Psychology, Etiology and classification of malocclusion, dentofacial anomalies, diagnostic procedures and treatment planning in Orthodontics, practice management in Orthodontics

Paper III :    Clinical Orthodontics

Paper IV :     Essay

Dept of Conservative Dentistry

Paper I    :    Applied Basic Sciences :  Applied Anatomy, Physiology , Pathology including Oral Microbiology, Pharmacology, Biostatistics and Research Methodology and Applied Dental Materials.

Paper II   :    Conservative Dentistry

Paper III  :    Endodontics

Paper IV  :    Essay

Dept of Prosthodontics

Paper – I      :        applied Basic sciences: Applied Anatomy embryology growth and development Generics, Immunology , Anthropology , Physiology, Nutrition & Biochemistry, Pathology , Microbiology, Virology, Applied pharmacology, Research Methodology  and Biodstatistics, applied Dental Anatomy & Histology , Oral Pathology & Microbiology, Adult and geriatric psychology, applied dental Materials

Paper – II     :       Removable Prosthodontics and implant supported Prosthosis ( Implantology ) Geriatric dentistry and cranio facial Prosthodontics

Paper – III    :       Fixed Prosthodontics, Occlusion, TMJ and Esthetics.
Paper – IV    :       Essay

Dept of Periodontics

Paper – I      :   Applied Basic Sciences :  Applied Anatomy, Physiology, & Biochemistry, Pathology, Microbiology, Pharmacology, Research Methodology and Biostatistics.

Paper – II     :   Normal Periodontal structure, Etiology & Pathogenesis of Periodontal diseases, epidemiology as related to Periodontics
 
Paper – III   :    Periodontal diagnosis, therapy & Oral implantology
 
Paper – IV   :    Essay ( with emphasis on recent advances in Periodontics )
